ARABIC CLASSES FOR CHILDREN at Cafe Palestina

Fun and games in Arabic for children aged 3-6- RED GROUP

Songs, games, fun in Arabic. We have not yet moved this class to Zoom, but do let us know if you would like your child to join when we can run it.

Kids’ Arabic class for children aged 6-8 - YELLOW GROUP 11.40-12.40 on Sundays

A bit more formal but still fun! This group aims to help children enjoy the language and help them build their pride and confidence in communicating in Arabic through a variety of fun activities.

Children’s Arabic class for children aged 7-12 - GREEN GROUP 12.45-1.45 on Sundays.

This group has done so well in the past two years! The group is continuing into the new year and is open to new members of a similar age, whether beginners or more advanced.

Class levels and times

Our classes aim to help people to improve their speaking and understanding of Palestinian / Levantine dialect. Focus is on speaking but we also do some reading and writing. We have several levels for people who identify as ‘beginners’ and a conversation class for people who are going further. We may add further levels or be able to provide private tuition in some cases, do ask.

  • Level A – Complete beginners / Saturday 10-11am
  • Level B – Beginners. For people with a little experience in Arabic who can recognise the Arabic letters / Saturday 1.20-2.20pm
  • Level C - Moving on. This is one step higher; you need to have studied at least 20 hours and be able to put together at least an easy sentence in written Arabic / Saturday 2.30 - 4pm
  • Level D - Conversation class for people who are managing at some level with spoken communication / Sunday 10-11.30
  • Level E - Students need to have studied about 2 years of Arabic (particularly the Levantine dialect) and be able to read and write in Arabic / Saturday 4.15-5.45 pm

PRIVATE CLASSES (classes for individuals) can often be arranged.
